I had the privilege of hanging with Brayden and his lovely mama on an afternoon just before graduation for his senior portraits. He is going places in life and I was so impressed with all of his accomplishments. Including this haiku he volunteered on my contact form:

What a joy to bring this international family together for photos in downtown Birmingham! When you parents visit you from India for their anniversary, you take photos! I am so grateful to meet beautiful people like this in my line of work.

My heart was full after this tiny family session in the Birmingham botanical gardens.

Have you thought about fostering or adopting? I haven’t been through an adoption process but would love to share fostering experiences with anyone who is curious out there. It is hard and wonderful, just like most of the things in life that are most worth doing.

A cutie Birmingham in home newborn session today! I photographed big brother here when he was a wee one and now he has a little baby sister! It is the biggest privilege to capture these fleeting moments in a family and to have the opportunity to see them grow together!
Also to see the meanest golf swing from a toddler that I have ever witnessed.

Some cutie Birmingham prom portraits today on the blog! I had such a lovely time meeting Sebastion and Kenzie! They are so kind and very sweet together. Our time together was peaceful and fun and I am so glad to have been able to document this moment in time for them.

When you get married in a different state than you live in everything can be very overwhelming but keeping your day straight forward and all about enjoying your wedding and your guests goes a long way. I loved their varied bridesmaid dresses and vintage dishes at every table setting!

This Alabama park wedding day was truly about fun and love and family in all the best ways. It is, to me, all the proof that you do not have to be married in a swanky ballroom to have a beautiful and memorable wedding day. This anniversary couples session in downtown Birmingham did my heart some good. 10 YEARS of marriage and it was pretty obvious that they still are diggin’ each other.

p.s. I don’t want to push anything on anybody but I HIGHLY recommend starting a photo session with something that is going to make you feel more open and relaxed.

I have been working on a personal project I am calling After School Special in my head. It is loose and without many expectations other than capturing the way life feels. I have felt so much dissonance between my home life and understanding what is going on throughout the country and the world right now. I am forever grateful that I have so many happy things close to me.
